I have always loved the old Hollywood look! It was so feminine and pretty! When I say,"Old Hollywood," I am referring to the stars back in the 1950's and such. I am a fan of old movies like Holiday Inn,It's a Wonderful Life,Sabrina, and old TV shows such as,Leave it to Beaver,Dick Van Dyke, and I Love Lucy. These are considered ''classy'' in my book. I tried to play around with a hairstyle that reflects the style of that time period. (Not to mention the fact that the hot thing back then was fluffy, curly hair. Heaven knows I've got that covered!)
I am really not good at tutorials, but I am going to try!
This is what I started with, slept on,scrunched hair. I fluffed it up with my fingers;p
These were my tools.
Revlon curling iron: It depends on how tight a curl you want,as to how big your curling iron is. I'm not sure what size mine is. It's not big and not tiny,so somewhere in the middle;)
John Frieda hair repair gloss: Just to fix fly aways.
A three sided comb.
A hand full of bobby pins.
Hair clips: I used these to pin my hair up while I curled the bottom.
Hair band: Just in case!
I pinned the top of my hair up on my head and started curling my bottom layers. I think it is called the Mermaid Curl Technique. Instead of using the clamp on your curling iron, you take the hair and wrap it around the iron in a spiral. It gives a soft, loose curl(shown above.)
Curl all of your hair this same way. Make sure to get every piece.
For the bangs, use the same technique and curl it back. Take the curl, and fold it up. Secure it with a bobby pin.
It was pretty easy;p I added some red lipstick just for fun! I can't wait to try out more styles like this!

Instafriday
HI! So I found my mom on the computer today and she was looking at a blog. Then I realized....THIS IS FRIDAY! So of course it's time for me to recap my week in Instagram photos;) Linking up with Jeannett!
My birthday cake my mom made for me:) The Pillsbury strawberry icing is the very best!!!
I received my necklace in the mail a day before my birthday:) It was good that it happened that way since it iced last weekend. The mail couldn't make it!
Straightened my hair out Monday night. Trying to think of something different I can do with the color or the bangs to keep myself from cutting it off!! Any ideas?? I'm game for suggestions!
We went snow tubing with our church Tuesday. We always stop at the same McDonald's. They have this huge play set! Somehow, us teenagers lose our maturity and jump in with the little kids;)
Isn't my sissy purdy??
Back to the resolutions.....:/
Did I mention we have become caretakers of this little sparrow?? My brother found him in the woods with a broken wing. He refuses to have his wing wrapped up! So we have put him in a bird cage beside my parakeet and tried to keep him still. We've tried to wrap his wing several times and every time he manages to hop out of our hands and dash through the house. He is super fast for such a little guy!!!
Abigail gave me these for my birthday right after I broke my old pair! She knows me well:0
I don't care for this album, but that's the beautiful thing about itunes. You can buy just one song:) This is one of the only 3 gospel songs on this CD. I loved the song so I went ahead and bought it! :)
Wednesday night was a windy one! This was before church. Fixing my hair was pointless that night because as soon as I walked out the door, WHOOSH!
One of my best friends gave me these lovelies for my birthday:)
Snow tubing. This was the pair of glasses I broke. I seriously go through like 10 pair a year!

I've been loving....
Just a few things I have been loving lately:) Starting with Rolo! We had homecoming at our church Sunday and I made some Rolo sugar cookies. They were awesome!!!!! Just place the Rolo up inside the sugar cookie dough and roll it into a ball. It takes about two rolls of Rolo and one large tube of sugar cookie dough:)
I use Suave Keratin leave-in conditioner. It is AWESOME. I put it in my hair when its damp. Trying not to get it too near the roots. I use a pea sized amount:) It doubles as a heat protectant. My cowboy boots(not pictured) are one of my favorite things right now!
This is my inspiration for growing my hair out. I fight the urge to cut it now and then.
At work(I work at our local Kmart) I work near the candy displays and one of those display is full of candy corn. I can honestly smell the sugar. I broke down and bought a bag. It was so good! Even though I gave over half the bag to Brendan. That appetite of his comes in handy;)
Trench coats! Love them! I actually got an adorable red on on sale for $25:00 at Ross! I'll post it later.
My Chuck Taylor style tennis shoes. Wearing em right now!
All the pics are from my pintrest:) Have a lovely day!

Baking Soda Hair Rinse
Hi guys,
this post is totally for you if you have trouble keeping oil build up out of your hair.
Ever since Saturday, my hair had been ssssooooo oily right in my crown. I talked to a girl about it and she told me that hers would get like that. She said she uses Tresemme shampoo(it will work with any) and baking soda. At that point I was desperate! I had run my head under cold water, conditioned, shampooed, everything! What had happened was, all the hair product I had added to my hair had built up and needed to be washed away. The baking soda strips your hair of that product and leaves you hair SO soft! This is a home version but you can also use clarifying shampoo.
Hope you like!
Mix the two together and wash your hair shrubbing well. Then wash your hair regular, and that's it!Enjoy!

The End To My Hair Drama
I'm guessing that by now you all know about my little...errr...hair accident. If you don't then click here. Anyway, I am going to show you pictures from each stage of my red hair. I'm going somewhere with this,so just keep reading.....
STAGE ONE:Dark Red
STAGE TWO: Reddish Blonde with dark roots
STAGE THREE: My roots are showing alot now, just about the whole top is dark brown!
STAGE FOUR: Back to NORMAL!
That's right! I used a Loreal Paris Dark Blonde hair color and it put it back to normal.
O how I missed those blonde curls!
So a word of advice. If you have blonde hair and are thinking of going red, DON'T DO IT! Or at least make sure you get a temporary color so it will wash out over time. I personally have decided never to touch the stuff again until I start getting grey;)
